Tycoon Dog to play at Love for Lucas Snowball Dance, 1/9/16
Happy New Year!
Here is an opportunity to start your year in the spirit of charity and celebration. Read on:
Lucas is a beautiful 3-year-old boy from Maplewood, NJ (our town) who has an aggressive form of cancer called Burkitt's Lymphoma. He's in the midst of a lengthy hospital stay in Philadelphia, and his pre-school is hosting a Snowflake Dance to help raise support and money for him and his family.
The Love for Lucas Snowball Dance will take place from noon - 3:00 pm on Saturday, January 9 at The Woodland in Maplewood, NJ. The event is for folks of all ages and will feature magic, food and drink, kid's activities like face-painting and balloon-animal making, and music, including a full-set performance by Tycoon Dog that will happen somewhere in the 1-3 pm time frame.
Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children and can be purchased at the door on January 9, or online anytime (there is a small service charge if you purchase online). To purchase online or get more info, please visit loveforlucas.eventbrite.com. To make additional donations, please visit www.gofundme.com/getwelllucas. All proceeds go to help Lucas and his family.
We're very excited to play a rare "off-season" show, to join our community in celebrating and supporting Lucas and his family, and to honor the inspiration and memory of our recently-departed band member Alisa B. Anderson, who showed us how important music, joy and positivity can be to those struggling with serious illness.
Please consider helping in this important and life-affirming effort. Visit the links above, buy tickets and/or make a donation, and join us at the Snowball Dance as we raise up a beautiful noise to celebrate and support Lucas and his family!
